Another stunning example of hilarity. Why aren't you this funny in conversation? Oh well. Hope you don't mind if I start coying you and posting my own comics.

they say that the more personal you make your work, the more universal its resonance. they might be right.

Yeah, maybe. I'm still hesitant to make personal comics. I've been turned far far away by reading so many that I don't like. I have trouble relating to pointless situational repetition, especially when they are self-loathing and appear to have been created with little creativity and effort. Plus, I feel like am cheating here, because this is pretty easy. Four or so lines of dialog, and a few drawings. I don't think the level of appreciation corresponds with the amount of effort put into it. I spend months working on short stories, and the deficiencies (not the virtues) are what stand out. I spend a few hours making a comic, and everyone's like yeah sweet. At any rate, this is good practice. And I have been sketching out some longer narratives, which I think could be pretty good.

Are you going to PAPA 11 this weekend?

I will have one by the time the Zine Symposium rolls around next weekend. I wanted to make two more comics, so that it would total to ten. But lately I'm not so sure about that happening. I'll be tabling with my housemate. I think there's just two chairs.

Are you trying to suggest something here... are you pretty sure you'll have a table? etc?

Emily signed up for a half table... don't know yet if we've been accepted. If you guys make it there, I'm going to tell her to pick up some of your comics for me!

You're not flying up?? Fly up!!

Our table's going to have a zillion things. It's crazy. I don't know how we got so much. We have stickers coming soon, and next week we'll be making buttons.

I will be there the entire time, I'm sure. So I will look for Emily.
